Meet Dr. Jamie Anderson

Dr. Jamie G. Anderson

photoIn veterinary medicine, as in most endeavors, some of the best work results from teamwork. That's the guiding philosophy at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists, Inc., the city's first and only multi-specialty, full-service referral hospital. Here, Dr. Jamie Anderson and her colleagues strive for a fully integrated approach to veterinary medicine. The practice draws on Western and Eastern treatment and diagnostic methods, offering specialty care in small animal internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, dermatology/allergy, and holistic medicine.

Donations to the ACVIM Foundation are an investment in specialized care for pets, training our new colleagues, and funding research that makes a difference every day. The Foundation is so important that SFVS has created a link on our website!

In that tradition of collaboration, San Francisco Veterinary Specialists became an ACVIM Foundation Charter Practice in 2005 - pledging $10,000 to demonstrate a deep appreciation of the ACVIM's work and its contributions.

Dr. Anderson says: "As an established practice with several ACVIM diplomates, SFVS was enthused to become a Charter Practice. Beyond supporting clinical research in internal medicine and fostering the education of new specialists, our donation is a fantastic means to give back to the profession. As well, clients whose pets have passed away are ‘touched' and genuinely grateful for contributions made on their behalf."

Jamie G. Anderson DVM, MS, DAVDC (Diplomate, American Veterinary Dental College), DiplACVIM (Small Animal Internal Medicine) splits her time between internal medicine and providing a full range of dental services at SFVS. She has a particular interest in oral medicine, and feline gingivostomatitis is her clinical area of research. Dr. Anderson completed back-to-back residencies in small animal internal medicine and dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania. Board certified in both specialties, she is the first person to complete a university-based residency program in dentistry.
