Pharmacology Grantee Announced
The ACVIM Foundation was very pleased to partner with the Veterinary Pharmacology Research Foundation (VPRF) to offer the first research grant focusing exclusively on veterinary pharmacology.
A grant of $17,874 was awarded to Drs. Kenneth Simpson, Melanie Craven, and Belgin Dogan from Cornell University for the development of a novel amikacin delivery method for treatment of E. coli associated with Granulomatous Colitis of Boxer dogs.
Over 30 high quality research proposals were submitted for evaluation by our Scientific Review Committee. The partnership between VPRF and ACVIMF builds on a long standing relationship between veterinary pharmacologists and internists which promotes scientifically sound and humane research on drug therapy for animal diseases and training of future scientists.
