In Memory of Tupper Growltiger

In loving memory of Tupper Growltiger and in Grateful Appreciation of Dr. Mollyann Holland and her Veterinary Team…

When I finally found my kitten, I took one look at him & fell head over heals in love. Oh my gosh, he was sooo beautiful; I KNEW he was the one. I took him home & named him Tupper Growltiger. He was smart too. He learned to walk on a leash and travel, and I took him everywhere. He was everything to me, my only child.

Tupper had such a way with people; he won everyone over, including my then future husband the very first time they met. It was so easy to see he was extra special. It’s said that what you lack in one area, God blesses you with more in another area. That was Tupper--blessed with brains & personality, instead of health.

From almost the very beginning, Tupper had health problems, and as he grew older, so did his problems grow. It started with a heart murmur, which turned out to be hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and allergies which grew into feline asthma. Later he developed a hyperthyroid condition, followed by a seizure disorder.

Tupper had a lot of different doctors in the early years until we were referred to Holland’s Veterinary Referral Hospital, and thankfully, Dr. Mollyann Holland and her veterinary team came into our lives. Dr. Holland worked with Tupper as each new problem surfaced to find the right protocol to give him a fine quality of life. She made time for every little question or concern we had, and we knew Tupper was in the best of hands while in her excellent care. Dr. Holland and her entire team were empathetic and compassionate and always, always had Tupper’s well-being in mind.

We are certain Dr. Holland and her team loved Tupper almost as much as we did, so we weren’t surprised when a sympathy card arrived after his passing. Perhaps we shouldn’t have been surprised either when we received a letter from ACVIM Foundation stating they had received a donation in Tupper’s memory. That’s just the kind of loving care Dr. Holland and her team have shown us from the very beginning. We were moved beyond words and grateful beyond belief. Dr. Holland and her team made possible the blessing of 14+ wonderful years with our beloved boy, and we thank her from the very bottom of our hearts.
