In Loving Memory of Gizmo

(a/k/a Giz, BooBoo, Gitmo, Gizzy Pooh, Sweet Pea, Sunshine)

Gizmo was born in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in December 1996. After battling with an autoimmune condition known as Aplastic Anemia for three weeks, Gizmo succumbed to the disease on January 3, 2007.

Gizmo’s favorite past time was lying on the bow of the boat and looking out over the canal; barking at iguanas that crawled on the dock; laying on the dock looking out into the yard and would spend hours, if you let him, staring out the gate to watch the children play.

Gizmo’s favorite toy was his squeaked piggy. He would scatter all his toys on the floor and then rolled on his back over them. He loved when we rubbed his belly and scratched his ears. His favorite treat was cantaloupe.

Gizmo disliked blenders, pressure cookers, vacuums, leaf blowers, almost anything that was loud, even a person who was speaking loud. Gizmo was intimidated by larger dogs, but what was funny is that the smaller dogs weren’t too fond of Gizmo and the big ones were.

Gizmo is loved by so many people who miss his unconditional love. He is with his creator now in a better place and in our hearts forever.

The cause of Gizmo’s condition was undiagnosed but we hope that the autopsy will assist the veterinarian community so that they can help to SAVE LIVES.
